Healthy Eating

Have you ever heard the expression "you are what you eat". There is some truth to that. Even though it can be challenging, it's important to try to eat foods that come from the different food groups. Since our bodies are about 70% water it's important to drink plenty of water each day, fruits & vegetables, grains (whole wheat, oatmeal, potato, brown rice), legumes (beans, peas, peanuts), low-fat dairy, fish and seafood, and lean meat. Try not to use too much salt, sugar, or transfats. In addition to eating foods from the different food groups, try to be aware of serving sizes. Some of the keys to healthy eating are variety, balance, and moderation. It's also important to try to get some exercise every day.
